abstract
| - An introduction to minimalist Generative Grammar is a non-fiction popular science book by the prominent American-born and now Lovian linguist Peter Emanuel, first published in 2010 in Lovia, in which Emanuel explains the basics of generative grammar, according to the most recent developments in the field, especially the contributions of Noam Chomsky to the Minimalist Program. This publication, commonly referred to as Emanuel's Introduction, marks the linguist's shift from lexicography and spelling issues, to more complex and highly theoretical syntactic linguistics. In this Introduction, Emanuel shows himself a moderate supporter of Noam Chomsky's Generative Grammar. The author has announced to be writing on several more topics within the field of generative grammar, both popularizing literature and research programs. Emanuel's Introduction is the first English publication to also apply Chomskyan generative grammar to specificly Lovian examples. In general, the Introduction makes use of examples from many human languages. The basic principles are most often explained through English-language examples, now including Lovian English as well.
