abstract
  • The DASA Ar21 previously known as S-300PMU-3, is an anti-aircraft weapon system originally developed by the former state of Russia's Almaz Central Design Bureau as an upgrade of their S-300 family. The systems were left behind after the Russian withdrawal and reengineered and improved by DASA. It is currently in service with the Luftwaffe. The S-300PMU-3 used three different missiles to cover its entire performance envelope. Those were the extremely long range 40N6, long range 48N6 and medium range 9M96 missile. Each one had different capabilities. DASA has modified the system so that all three missile types have been replaced with one missile with all capabilities included.
