For this second iteration production was moved from Japan to Korea and several changes were introduced over the first model, including new pickups, bridge and neck joint. This Korean RG470 features a basswood body bolted to a maple Wizard II neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a double locking tremolo bridge, Ibanez Infinity pickups in an HSH configuration and a locking nut. This model also gets the sleeker All Access Neck Joint along with all the other RG models for 1994.

The RG450DX is a similar model with a pickguard and different inlays. A second Japanese RG470 was introduced for the US market in 1998. This Korean model continued to be sold in Europe and Japan until being replaced by the Japanese made model in all markets in 2000. Several differences exist between this Korean model and the second Japansese model including the bridge and pickups.
