abstract
| - 12 March 2008 marked a return to league action after the FA Cup run was brought to a halt at the quarter-final stage, when they were beaten 5-1 by West Brom. They faced a Northampton Town team which featured future Rovers loanee Daniel Jones. Going in to this game Rovers were lying in the bottom half of the league due to having a number of games in hand from the cup run. A single point earned in this game, thanks to Sean Rigg's first goal of the season, was enough to put them in 16th place in League 1, nine points above the relegation zone and ten points away from the playoffs with three games in hand. After the game, Rovers' first-team coach Paul Trollope criticised his team's performance, particularly in the second half which he described as 'criminal'.
