Whilst exploring the Rocky Valley Zone one day, Sid and Tone discovered a cave that contained a chest of ancient treasure. Rather than share it amongst the local population, the two called "finder's keepers" and decided to sell it. They then decided it would be too suspicious to sell it all at once, so they devised a plan, pretending they were aliens that had crash-landed outside the cave to scare people away.

They then decided it would be too suspicious to sell it all at once, so they devised a plan, pretending they were aliens that had crash-landed outside the cave to scare people away. Before they could begin retrieving the gold, Sid and Tone were confronted by explorers Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary. The dogs, both wearing their alien outfits, began firing at the heroes with their futuristic guns. Amy and Tekno bypassed the aliens by using a Boring Machine to dig into the cave. However, Sid and Tone found them and revealed their secret before threatening to kill the girls. After they had removed their masks, Amy tricked Sid and Tone into believing that the treasure was "Geek's Gold", a prop left behind from the filming of Caves of Gold. The villains each believed that their accomplice had fallen for the fake gold and they began to fight, with Tone even trying to shoot Sid. The ruckus caused the cave's ceiling to collapse and the pair barely escaped with their lives. They decided to abandon the prop and were not punished for their actions.
