| - Most of what is easily found out about Kloii Hanew is prior to the Battle of Endor. She was born and raised on Rhinnal in an affluent family made up nearly entirely of medical professionals. It was only a matter of time before Kloii followed suit. She graduated from the Rhinnal State Medical Academy with honors and went on to begin a fruitful medical career, well on her way to being a full cyberneticist. Shortly before the Battle of Endor, however, she learned her little sister—who had always been a free-spirited trouble-magnet—had been arrested on Coruscant as an alleged rebel spy and was due to be executed. Kloii’s sister, Maegyn, fell short of the mark on many things, but regardless of her baby sister’s decisions over the years, Kloii couldn’t stand by and just let her be executed. So, the doctor made some contacts among the seedier element of Coruscant, put nearly all of her credit savings into a plan of action to spring her sister, and risked her own life at the same time. The plan almost worked flawlessly, but before she and her sister could get completely out of the facility, they were discovered and a harrowing chase ensued. After splitting up (to make getting caught more difficult), the two sisters reached freedom. But from that moment on, Kloii’s promising medical career on Rhinnal was over; even if the stuffy society and her family could look past this smudge on her reputation, the Imperials put a warrant out for her arrest. It wasn’t safe for her, or anyone she associated with. Of course, the Battle of Endor and the emergence of the Galactic Republic changed some of that. Kloii still wasn't welcomed back on Rhinnal, in Imperial space, as she was still dodging arrest by the remains of the Empire, but had a little more freedom of movement elsewhere thanks to the Republic. This isn’t to say she was a staunch supporter—and perhaps things would have been easier for her to find work if she had been—but at least she didn’t have to fear arrest by them and so it was a little easier for her to move around. Albeit, she moved around with a lot of looking over her shoulder. The years that followed consisted of Kloii working her way around the galaxy, some jobs more reputable than others, and still other jobs not even utilizing her medical expertise. It was just a means to an end, a way to earn enough to get to the next space port. She aspired to find herself back in a distinguished lab, but doubted it would ever come to pass, especially after working for some of the criminal element--even by Republic standards--whether she knew she was or not. Adrift like this, she held onto the one goal she felt she could achieve: learning what happened to her sister. Rumor was that Maegyn had been killed in the Battle of Endor, but Kloii refused to believe rumors. She wanted evidence, proof. More than anything, she wanted to know that her sister was alive and well, that Kloii hadn’t sacrificed everything for nothing.
