Tico Tico no Fubá is a world renowned Brazilian choro-song composed by Zequinha de Abreu in 1917. Originally called the song Tico-Tico no Farelo, but because the Brazilian guitarist Américo Jacomino Canhoto (1889-1928) already had written a song with the same title,got this composition in 1931 Tico-Tico no Fubáthe title. It is also known by the shorter name Tico Tico. Fubá is a kind of flower of corn, and Tico-Tico is the name of the red collar Sparrow (Zonotrichia capensis ).
