Diane is a supporting character from 1987 video game "Metal Gear". In 1995, Diane provided her expertise to FOXHOUND agent Solid Snake, informing him of the weaknesses of each of Outer Heaven's mercenaries and their weapons systems during Operation Intrude N313. The only enemies whose weakness she could not identify were the Bloody Brad cyberoids and Outer Heaven's secret Commander-in-Chief, "Big Boss." Diane apparently had romantic feelings for Snake, but never expressed them to him. She lived with her older brother Steve, who would often answer Snake's calls only to be annoyed with him and provide excuses for Diane's absence.
