Magna Centipede apareció por primera vez en Mega Man X2, como un Reploid que una vez fue miembro de la Unidad Especial 0 de los Maverick Hunter, pero que en una misión fue capturado por los seguidores de Sigma y sufrió un lavado cerebral. Ahora, Centipede como un Maverick atenta contra los Reploids al intentar esparcir el Virus Maverick en todo el mundo por medio de una transmisión desde la computadora de los X-Hunters. Magna Centipede como un antiguo miembro de la Unidad Especial 0 utiliza habilidades ninja como la teletransportación y el lanzamiento de shuriken. Centipede es un amo del magnetismo, su Magnet Mine, del cual esta compuesta su cola, persigue a sus enemigos y no existe escóndite seguro para escapar de el.
