abstract
| - The Global Greens is a global network of Green parties and political movements. It was founded in 2001 in Canberra, Australia at the second Global Greens Conference, where the Global Green Charter was approved. The Global Greens has a 12-member steering committee called the Global Green Coordination and a network of members called the Global Greens Network.
- The Global Greens Movement represents a transnational political and social movement in the truest sense. I hope that this space becomes a place for those interested in Green Politics to better develop their thinking, their platforms, their actions, and their infrastructures through collaborative means. As the growth economy is driving all of us off a cliff, at an accelerating rate, we have the responsibility to get as many people out of that vehicle as fast as we can. I would say we should be building a different vehicle, powered by grassroots problem-solving, but it's possible that there is no single vehicle or fuel that we should gravitate towards. Each place on this planet has a unique ecology and history, and thankfully the Global Greens movement respects and even honors that diversity.
