Robert Leishman Stuart (30 April 1849 - 10 September 1936) was a Scottish-born builder and local politician active in the Rotherhithe area. Born in Glasgow, he moved to England. He married Alice Creech in Bristol in 1879 and by 1881 he was living in Rotherhithe. He became a member of the Rotherhithe Vestry and Library Commissioners. In about 1908 he moved to Lee but remained a landlord in Rotherhithe. He sat as a Progressive Party member of the London County Council representing Southwark, Rotherhithe 1910-19 and the redrawn Bermondsey, Rotherhithe electoral division from 1919-22.
