Stalhounds are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They are depicted as skeletal dog-like creatures that appear in various parts of Hyrule Field at night, as well as in the Cave of Ordeals. They usually attack in pairs and will do so by lunging at Link. The canines can be defeated with any weapon in Link's arsenal, as well as through wolf form. Running over them by means of Epona is also effective. Unlike other skeletal creatures in the game, Stalhounds will let out a short howl before collapsing and dying, rather than exploding instantly.

Most Stalhounds can be avoided, but in one portion of Link's quest, a horde of ten hounds must be killed in order to receive the Wooden Statue; the statue is needed to recover Ilia's Memory. Interestingly, Stalhounds share many similarities with Stalchildren from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Some of these similarities include the fact that they are both stal-like creatures, they both appear in Hyrule Field at night, and they both usually attack in pairs.
