The Mars-class Space Ferry is a simple space-faring craft designed by the legendary Reyes-McLees Shipyards. It was created as a cheap method of traveling large amounts of people from one location to another. They have been used for interstellar travel as well as trips from a spaceport to the ground and vice versa. Companies that use the Mars-class include the United-Southwest Travel Corporation, which operates over 160 Ferries, and Bermington, Inc., which operates just over one hundred. The Mars-class has also been used by the UNSC to transport recruits to training locations and to bases or orbital defenses. Also, a large majority of these ships are privately owned and often handle almost all lower-class passengers in the Second Rim colonies (outside the Outer Colonies).
