The Maakengorge is a massive fissure in the south of the Durncrag Mountains, positioned next to the forgotten and buried city of Maaken, in Sommerlund that was the scene of the Battle of Moytura Pass, where Darklord Vashna was slain by King Ulnar I, wielding the Sommerswerd. It is said that Vashna's spirit and those of his army still reside within the gorge, awaiting their chance to wreck vengeance against the house of Ulnar and Sommerlund. It is commonly called the Chasm of Doom.
