Demon-Serpents (Q."Lókeraukar" S."Lhygrogath") enwinded themselves about the pillars of Morgoth's Throne Room in Utumno and later Angband. They were the descendants of fallen Water Spirits, although they had been banished from their original realm and survived only in the Underdeeps, in tainted waters and Bogs or marshes. They were clad in shadowy, slimy, dark Fánar, surrounded by dim shadows or fog. The Elves believed them to be the ancestors of all Snakes or serpents, and possibly (at least to some part) the origin of Morgoth's Dragons. see:
* Feäloke
* Iaurloke
