- Jason Marsden, as heard in the first trailer, was originally announced to voice Kenai, voiced by Joaquin Phoenix in the first film, but according to Reuters, Patrick Dempsey ultimately voiced Kenai. However, the end credits still note him as one of the additional voices. This is also Rick Moranis' last role in a film before retiring from acting.
- (The Disneycember logo is shown, before showing clips from Brother Bear 2) Doug (vo; sounding angry): Why was Disney so obsessed with turning people into bears? They did it in Brother Bear, which didn't do so well. They did it in Brother Bear 2, which, as far as I know, didn't do so well. Even Pixar did it in Brave, which also didn't do so well! Did one of the Disney higher-ups just want to be a bear? Well, whatever the reason, we have this direct-to-DVD sequel that, big shock, is not very good. If you saw my review of the first one, you know I like everything in the beginning, everything in the end, and think the middle was really dumb. I guess that's better than this one, seeing how it's mostly dumb, and pointless, and forced, and uncomfortable, and...oh, let's just get to it.
- Brother Bear 2 is a direct-to-video sequel to the animated feature Brother Bear and was released on DVD on August 29, 2006. Melissa Etheridge contributed three songs to the film. In the film, the adventures of bear brothers Kenai and Koda continue. While the first film dealt with Kenai's relationship with Koda, this one focuses more on his bond with his childhood friend, Nita. Only five of the original characters return for the sequel including Kenai, Koda, Tug, Rutt, and Tuke. But only four of those actors came back to do their original roles which include Jeremy Suarez, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, and Michael Clake Duncan.
