Dark Pit makes his first appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series as an unlockable newcomer in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U. Before being officially confirmed as a playable fighter, he was shown at the end of Palutena's reveal trailer. It wasn't until after the 3DS version's release that he was finally confirmed on the official Super Smash Bros. website. As was the case in Kid Icarus: Uprising, he is voiced by Antony Del Rio in the English version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U, and by Minami Takayama in the Japanese version of the game.

Description
  • A fragile alternative to the Guardian Orbitars, it deals more damage when reflecting projectiles.
  • An offensive alternative to the Guardian Orbitars. It damages opponents upon impact—however, it no longer reflects projectiles.
  • An offensive alternative to the Power of Flight. It has a beginning lag and shorter range, but it deals damage to nearby opponents.
  • A breezy alternative to the Power of Flight. A tornado surrounds Dark Pit during use, which pushes nearby opponents away—however, it has less range.
  • If Dark Pit attacks while he is down after slipping, he will jump up and spin his bow to either side of him.
  • Dark Pit does a flip before kicking upwards. Doing so attacks opponents directly in front of him, knocking them off their feet.
  • If Dark Pit attacks while he is down, he will jump up and jab his blades to either side of him.
  • Dark Pit dashes forward with an Electroshock Arm. While dashing, he will reflect any projectiles shot at him. If this move makes contact with an opponent, Dark Pit will perform an uppercut with the arm, sending the opponent diagonally upward.
  • Dark Pit runs forward and spins, lashing out with his bow in the process.
  • A short-range alternative to the Electroshock Arm. Dark Pit will not move while performing this attack; however, if it connects with the opponent, it will launch them diagonally upwards, dealing heavier damage than usual.
  • Dark Pit throws the opponent downwards, which launches them upwards once finished.
  • Dark Pit equips the Dark Pit Staff and shoots it in a straight line in front of him. This powerful beam has high knockback, and can be used through walls to shoot opponents on the other side.
  • If Dark Pit is holding onto the edge of a platform, he can quickly flip onto the stage and kick foes in front of him.
  • A basic ranged attack, Dark Pit shoots a dark purple arrow at his opponents. Unlike Pit's Palutena Bow, its arrows can barely curve—however, they are slightly more powerful.
  • Dark Pit can grab opponents and hold them. While he is doing this, he can knee them, kick them into the air, smash them into the ground, toss them forward or behind himself, or let them go without causing any damage should the opponent escape the hold.
  • Dark Pit slices the opponent forward with one of his blades.
  • A weaker alternative to the Silver Bow. Its arrows have farther range and their flight paths are more easily controlled.
  • Dark Pit slashes at his foe twice, hitting anyone in front of him.
  • Dark Pit crouches down with his bow dismantled, then jabs his blades to either side of him, both very close to the ground. This hits the opponent's feet, which launches them upwards.
  • Dark Pit spins around on one leg, narrowly dodging incoming attacks. This renders Dark Pit invincible for a very brief period of time.
  • Dark Pit jumps into the air and slashes at his opponents three times.
  • Dark Pit leans back in mid-air, narrowly dodging incoming attacks. This renders Dark Pit invincible for a very brief period of time.
  • Dark Pit shields both sides of himself with Guardian Orbitars. The Orbitars will prevent damage and will reflect projectiles shot at him—however, he is vulnerable from directly above. If the Orbitars take enough damage, they will break and remain this way for about 10 seconds.
  • Dark Pit crouches and strikes at the opponent's feet. This move slightly launches opponents upward.
  • A faster alternative to the Electroshock Arm that deals less damage than normal. While the Electroshock Arm stops on impact, the Quickshock Arm cuts straight through opponents and keeps going, making it difficult to control.
  • A simple slash attack. Dark Pit can slash up to three times with this move; if the A button is continuously tapped or held beyond this point, Dark Pit will begin spinning his bow in front of him. He can continuously inflict damage on an opponent upon making contact, though Dark Pit will gradually slide backwards until he hits a ledge or wall.
  • Dark Pit leans backwards to jab his foe with his disassembled bow.
  • Dark Pit spins his bow in front of him, similar to a buzzsaw.
  • Dark Pit swings one of his blades beneath him while falling.
  • Dark Pit's wings glow green as he flies in a straight line. The direction can be adjusted.
  • Dark Pit leans forward and strikes at his opponent with both ends of his bow in a scissor-like motion.
  • Dark Pit knees the opponent while holding them. This is repeatable until the opponent is thrown, or breaks free of the grab.
  • Dark Pit balances himself on his hands while kicking the opponent upwards.
  • Dark Pit spins his assembled bow upwards, akin to helicopter blades.
  • A stronger alternative to the Silver Bow. Its arrows deal more damage, but it is slower and cannot be angled.
  • Dark Pit spins his bow in its fan form, hitting in all directions.
  • Dark Pit spins around, then throws the opponent away.
