Cholecystokinin is a hormone produced in the small intestine and secreted in the duodenum. It triggers the release of bile and other digestive enzymes from the gall bladder and pancreas. It also reduces the feeling of hunger. It also appears to have a role in the development of tolerance to narcotics and the subsequent symptoms of withdrawal.
