- Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. was an independent game publisher company founded in Delaware state in 1987. They later became a worldwide game developer, publisher, and stock holder. Acclaim had studios in Manchester, United Kingdom, Austin, Texas, and their headquarters in Glen Cove, New York. Acclaim was known by publishing Re-Volt and the Burnout series, as well as being the original publisher of Juiced. AKLM was its stock symbol. It had public ownership under NASDAQ from 1987-2004.

It published the Turok games during the Acclaim era, such as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Turok: Rage Wars, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion and Turok: Evolution. The company's mascot was Iggy the Iguana, as seen in the Iguana Entertainment logo. Following Acclaim Entertainment's 2004 demise, the Acclaim brand and logotype were purchased by Howard Marks and relaunched as "Acclaim Games," a company devoted to online multiplayer gaming, in January 2007. The company shut down once again in August 2010.
