The RGA420Z features an arched-top mahogany body with a flamed maple top bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include dual covered Ibanez active humbucking pickups with an Active EQ control, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The RGA420Z was among the first RGA models equipped with a tremolo, along with the seven-string RGA427Z and the RGA220Z which is similar to the RGA420Z but lacks the flamed maple top. The RGA420Z was discontinued after 2015.
