  • The Chaos Archon is a psionic entity formed by the merging of any combination of two Chaos Templar and/or Rogue Templar. Formed by the merging of two minds, Archons command a vast array of psychic abilities to turn the tide of battle instantly. Due to their raw power, other races must either take on Archons with heavy artillery or with large numbers. Though not on the same level as the Xel'Naga, these beings are nonetheless something to be concerned about. Chaos Archons appear as purple swirls of "glowing darkness" as if they were a combination of both known Archons, but much more intimidating. Unlike the majestic armor of their counterparts, it looks as if Zerg carapaces were fused to their skeletons. Shadowy tendrils seem to fade in an out of the auras withering anything they come in contact with. Prolonged exposure to Chaos Archons causes random malfunctions in both technology and weak mental links. Those susceptible include detection and transformation equipment and the hive minds of most ground based Zerg strains. Constant transforming, burrowing, and unburrowing leave valuable forces extremely vulnerable to torrents of Chaos lightning (Transformers: Anti-electrons). At the same time, friendly stealth units are relatively unopposed by scrambled sensors. The psionic lightning used by normal Archons bring quick, if not painless, death to their adversaries. Chaos Archons prefer to transfer intense feelings of pain and hatred along with their attacks. This addition of negative emotions tends to overwhelm victims to the point of paralysis (Star Wars: Force lightning). While most beings cannot stand such Agony, Chaos Archons not only revel in it they become even stronger (Marvel: Blackheart). At the peak of this power, they can bounce arcs of lighting in chains incapacitating large battalions with ease (Warcraft III: Far Seer; Beast Machines: Botanica). Nearly impossible to fully control, the only thing keeping these psionic juggernauts in line is that part of their essence is removed and transferred to different locations during the merging process. This is achieved by special crystals implanted in the merging Templars beforehand. Should the Chaos Archons get out of control, their commanders can crush the essence fragments until the rampant archons submit or perish (Beast Wars: Rampage). Drawing energy from Dead Zones formed by Eclipses, Chaos Archons have virtually infinite power making them even more dangerous on the battlefield. Special Abilities: * Agony (passive) - unit attacks stun targets. Attacks gain +5 damage for every rank (max: +20). At maximum rank attack splits into a cone of lightning attacking three targets at once * Havoc (passive) - aura disables detectors. Enemy transformation and burrow/unburrow commands are triggered and cannot be controlled until the caster is moved or destroyed. Unit no longer needs energy to cast spells while inside a Dead Zone
