* Ordelia Raptor Rethal began as a large kingdom in the north-central region of Deroxel known as Reita.A young soldier Christopher Hawke started to stir trouble within the ranks of Reita's military. Soon, even the most high-ranking generals were favouring his opinions over those of the King. Hawke lead a revolution against the king of Reita and ascended to the throne. With King Reita dead, Hawke renamed himself Raptor, and called himself the Lord of a new country called Rethal. Under Raptor's leadership, Rethal grew and came to dominate the entire western half of Deroxel. Soon, even the most powerful kingdoms fell against the might of what was now called the great Rethalian Empire. This period of Raptor's domination is what most historians refer to as The Scourge. Rethal, formerly Reita, became known as Rapthora and was the capital of Raptor's empire. Rethal reaches its peak of power shortly after dominating the nations of Nowhen, Tilithon, and Yulin. It was about this time that an organized resistance, soon to be known as The Karelth Resistance formed. This resistance fought Rethal from within and without and before long sent the massive empire shrinking back to the west. Eventually, Rethal had stagnated to the point where Karelth was an empire of its own of equal strength to the once mighty force. For many years, Rethal remained inactive and in a state of cold war with Karelth. Rethal was kept in line by Karelth; its borders neither grew nor shrank, and while the empire of resistance sought to shrink Rethal even further, for a time they were content to allow Rethal to exist. During its period of stagnation, Raptor began a host of experiments both genetic and cybernetic in an attempt to give Rethal the edge it needed to defeat Karelth. Amongst these experiments included the KI-Genesis Project, a project which nearly cost Raptor his life. After an experiment from the KI-Genesis Project severely injured Raptor, Kurtis Claw, Raptor's leading general, became a stand-in leader for a mere six months. Little happened during his time as Emperor, but once Raptor regained the throne, Claw left Rethal, never to return as General. Raptor began a descent into madness and at the time of his death, left orders that his favoured mistress Raina Isabella would become Empress of Rethal. The decision shocked the empire and most of the populace believed that the Empress would be the end of the Empire. This prediction almost became truth as Raina Isabella opened peace talks with Karelth and returned independence to many outlying regions of Rethal. It was during the first peace conference with Karelth that Empress Raina Isabella was assassinated. The assassination was blamed on Karelth and served to turn any "weak feelings" towards Karelth into active aggression amongst the populace. The assassination was actually organized by Raptor and Raina's own daughter, Kerri Raptor. Kerri became the new Empress and under her lead, the Rethalian Empire reached terrifying new heights. Kerri took back all of the nations that her mother had granted independence, began conquering outlying Kingdoms on Fallania and Snarun and Luoria, annexed Grylorn and eventually unleashed a missile strike against Karelth that devastated the empire of resistance. Kerri's level of global domination was something that had not been seen in centuries. It was beyond the scope of Blueshield, Taknok and her father: something not seen since the early days when humans first began migrating to Drellia. Under her leadership, Rethal became the largest, the most powerful, and the most malicious entity in the history of Drellia.
