Bohumil Modrý (24 September 1916 in Prague - 21 July 1963 in Prague) was an ice hockey player for the Czechoslovak national team. He won a silver medal at the 1948 Olympics.

He spent his entire club career with LTC Praha. On March 11, 1950, Modrý and his teammates were arrested at the Prague airport while preparing to travel to London to defend their title at the 1950 World Championship tournament, and charged with making plans to defect to the West.

  • Bohumil Modry (September 24, 1916 - July 21, 1963) was a Czechoslovak goaltender. He was a member of the Czechoslovak National Team at five World Championships between 1937 and 1949, and at the 1948 Winter Olympics (where he won a silver medal). He won a gold medal at the 1949 WC. He spent his entire club career with LTC Praha. On March 11, 1950, Modrý and his teammates were arrested at the Prague airport while preparing to travel to London to defend their title at the 1950 World Championship tournament, and charged with making plans to defect to the West. Modrý and eleven other players were convicted of treason in October, with Modrý receiving the longest sentence, 15 years in prison. Modrý was born in Prague and died shortly after his early release from incarceration.
