| - * The setting of this episode is of being "discovered" in Peter Griffin's basement, along with a number of "lost episodes". The events of the episode take place in Quahog in March of 2007. This is to account for the fact that OJ had been arrested again for robbery and sent to prison in Nevada in November 2008. At the time of the episode's airing, the writers had put a lot of time and effort into the episode and did not wish to discard the episode in light of Simpson's robbery conviction.
* Peter and Lois had a son, Peter Griffin Jr., who died when Peter shook him.
* Peter needs a distraction after Lois finds out Stewie was abandoned on the roof in a thunderstorm and again says "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty." This is a running gag that appears in numerous episodes.
* It is revealed that Peter idolized O.J. Simpson as a boy.
* In this episode, the writers reference Stewie's oddly-shaped head when OJ throws Stewie to Chris like a football.
* OJ says he has recorded football games without expressed written consent from the NFL. Peter is also guilty of this, as seen in "A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas".

* When Peter finds the raffle ticket, Brian stated that it was a yellow ticket. This is notable because Brian is color-blind.
* In this episode, Stewie seems to not know who O.J. Simpson is in the beginning at the table, but in an earlier episode, "Peter Griffin: Husband, Father...Brother?", Stewie is seen talking to O.J. Simpson in a flashback and knows who he is.
* When Joe and Cleveland are making out, when Quagmire takes a picture, the phone is designed upside down with the number keys on top.
