Mekenobites are Luminoth security drones that patrol the corridors of the Sanctuary Fortress, and like all other Luminoth mechanoids, they have gone rogue due to the Ing invasion. The Mekenobite walks on two wiry legs attached to its main body, and they are able to walk on any surface by magnetizing its legs to it. It attacks by firing magnetic pulses, which home in on enemies and explode with incredible force. Its legs are vulnerable to concussive blasts, but it a Mekenobite loses one leg, is can simply regrow it. It can only be destroyed by using Seeker Missiles to destroy both legs at once, causing the robot to fall to its death.

- Mekenobites are mechanoids found in the Sanctuary Fortress area of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Mekenobites each have a pair of spindly, flexible legs, and use magnetism to hang from ceilings. They can fire projectiles using a magnetic accelerator at its target. They are invulnerable to most forms of attack. Initially, the only way to kill them is to target both its legs at the same time with the Seeker Missile. The two Missiles will detach both its legs from the ceiling, causing it to drop and self-destruct. Once Samus obtains the Screw Attack, she can dispatch the mechanoid with one hit. They first appear in the Sanctuary Temple on Samus' second visit and often shake the platforms, trying to knock its target off.

| - The Luminoth created the Mekenobite to help patrol the corridors and shafts of the Sanctuary Fortress. It uses magnetism to keep itself attached to the walls and ceilings. In combat, it will fire projectiles towards its target with a magnetism accelerator. It can only be dislodged by simultaneous explosive blasts. Mekenobites self-destruct once they are heavily damaged.
