talaor by user Alarican Let's take the logic of Libertarianism to a logical extreme vis-a-vis foreign policy. Deregulate sales of nuclear weapons, put everyone one notice they WILL be held accountable for their actions. Ahmedenijad sends a nuke our way. Or, more likely, sets it off in Jerusalem. Next frame - Tehran is a glassy bowl. We put world on notice: you fired one of your six bullets; we fired one of our six thousand. If you want to play chicken, we can see whose population lasts longer. I don't see a problem here... what am I missing? __NOEDITSECTION__

  • talaor by user Alarican Let's take the logic of Libertarianism to a logical extreme vis-a-vis foreign policy. I know someone's bound to say that I don't have much respect for human life. I will point out that in this scenario, they fired first. The "War on Drugs" and Prohibition have shown us that interdiction is never 100% effective: Iran WILL get the bomb. And not be afraid to use it, since we have proved its value by trying so hard to keep it out of their hands. Let them have it. Put them on notice: The USA has never had a nuclear strike on its soil. We stand to lose a LOT LESS than you do if we go into a slugging match. DON'T go into a slugging match with us. Remember, we fought in the Cold War days of Mutually Assured Destruction. The most you could do to us is take out a few cities, whereas we can wipe out your entire country. Please, PLEASE be the first to test our resolve on this: the sooner the lesson is out there, the sooner everyone else will shut the hell up and leave us alone. I don't see a problem here... what am I missing? __NOEDITSECTION__ From The Opinion Wiki, a Wikia wiki. From The Opinion Wiki, a Wikia wiki.
