Nathan, having a hard time deciding on what to name his wrestler, went to his wife for advice. Since she is a professional, she decided to keep her maiden name for business reasons. She was playing around with a few things when she decided that he should hyphenate his last name, making it Nathan Hawthorne-Lee, and her reason for her last name to be first was so that he could have the 'nickname' NHL. Nathan found it pretty catchy. After wrestling for a while, he found that people used to make fun of him because of the NHL name. Nathan, who used to watch some hockey, started hating it, hence having the gimmick of a man cursed with the NHL initials, while hating hockey. Nathan has always been an easygoing guy, just going with the flow of things. But, when he gets mad, he gets mad. He gets it to the point of snapping on the source of the anger. Anger management wasn't always his thing, so he takes every incident at a time and has learned to control his anger, so he has few outbursts, and they happen very few and far between. He is a great technical wrestler, but chooses to deviate from that style every now and then to throw off his opponents.
