'Alexander I Soter I (Greek: Αλέξανδρος Σωτήρ, Aléxandros I So̱tí̱r, Alexander the Savior) 340 BC-260 BC was the founder of the Alexandrine kingdom and dynasty of Néa Aígyptos and Pharaoh of that kingdom from 305 BC until his death. Alexander I was the son of Emperor Perséas VIII by a woman named Arsinoe. He was succeeded by first his son Alexander II Keraunos, but was eventually succeeded by his favorite son Alexander III Philadelphos.
