- Die Slitheen sind eine Raxacoricofallapatorianische Familie oder Sippe vom Planeten Raxacoricofallapatorius. Sie sind ruchlose, kriminelle Aliens, deren Hauptmotiv Profit ist. Doch sie sind auch begeisterte Jäger, sie wurden bereits in der Kindheit zum Jagen und Töten erzogen. Die Mitglieder der Slitheen-Familie sind auf ihrem Planeten verurteilte Kriminelle, die bei ihrer Rückkehr die Todesstrafe durch Säure erwartet. Im Jahr 2006 versuchen die Slitheen auf der Erde einen Dritten Weltkrieg auszulösen, um so die Zerstörung des Planeten herbei zu führen und dessen Trümmer verkaufen zu können. Um sich zu tarnen, benutzen sie äußere Hülle von Menschen, in die sie sich mittels Kompression hineinzwängen. Um das zu erreichen, besitzen sie Krägen am Hals, über die sie ihre Körpermasse bis zu einem bestimmten Punkt zusammendrücken können. Da das Ausmaß begrenzt ist, brauchen sie die Hüllen kräftiger oder großer Personen. Der dabei vorgenommene Gasaustausch ruft allerdings verräterische Geräusche und Gerüche hervor. Sie übernehmen die Körper wichtiger Persönlichkeiten der britischen Regierung und nisten sich in der Downing Street ein, um von dort aus den Einsatz von Atomwaffen zu provozieren. Der Neunte Doctor kann dies mit der Hilfe von Rose Tyler, Mickey Smith und Harriet Jones verhindern. Dabei kommen fast alle auf der Erde anwesenden Mitglieder der Slitheen-Familie ums Leben. Zwei Jahre später, 2008, unterwandern weitere Slitheen eine Schule in Ealing.

They would sell the energy to buy a fleet of battlecruisers and return to Raxacoricofallapatorius to destroy several rival families.
