The Apophis-class Sub-Prowler is specialised UNSC ship for preforming infiltration and exfiltration. The Apophis is the successor to the older Black-Cat and Calypso vessels and is used by the Navy and by the Office of Naval Intelligence for low profile insertions. The ship is fully capable of preforming terrestrial landings, with landing pads and a bottom loading ramp, or sub-orbital insertions. It also has an all-purpose docking port.

abstract
  • The Apophis-class Sub-Prowler is specialised UNSC ship for preforming infiltration and exfiltration. The Apophis is the successor to the older Black-Cat and Calypso vessels and is used by the Navy and by the Office of Naval Intelligence for low profile insertions. The Apophis has all the stealth systems of larger Prowlers, such as RADAR resistant hull design, infra-red suppressive paints, an active camouflage system, electronic/cyber defences and point defences. It has a minimal weapon complement consisting of three Windstorm weapon positions, with one covering the rear, one covering the upper front and one covering the lower front arc. These are not designed to allow it to combat other starships, but operate as a last ditch defence against starfighters, and in rare circumstances as a LZ suppression weapon. The ship is fitted with crew quarters capable of laying host to fifty crew member, complete with weapons and equipment. Also fitted are two sizeable cargo bays, with a choice of outward facing cargo doors or cargo lifts that lower out of the hull. This allows the ship to load two Warthogs, or several exoskeleton units. The ship can comfortably be run by a crew of three and has an extremely compact and streamlined design, with two engine units with self-sufficient fusion reactors. The ship is fully capable of preforming terrestrial landings, with landing pads and a bottom loading ramp, or sub-orbital insertions. It also has an all-purpose docking port.
