Port Aren is a city built on the island of Crandor after you finish Dragon Slayer. Until after you finish the quest Fountain of Youth, you cannot use any of the public facilities such as the bank, as all of the inhabitants speak an odd language called Crandish. After completing the quest, you are given a Book O'Crandish with which to translate. The city is connected with the mainland by the Tunnel of Aren, a "subway" of sorts leading to Rimmington.

After completing the quest, you are given a Book O'Crandish with which to translate. The city is connected with the mainland by the Tunnel of Aren, a "subway" of sorts leading to Rimmington. In this city there are four very important buildings. The first is the Bank, which doubles as a Branch of the Grand Exchange. The second is the Crandorian School of Cooking Excellency, which contains a food store, cookery store, and a spice store. The third is Smit Smith's Smithy, which contains a forge and an anvil. The smithy is the closest anvil/forge to a bank in F2P. Smit Smith also buys and sells ore. The last is the Royal Retreat. This is where King Vallance rests, and dies from tuberculosis in the quest Legacy. Off the coast, there is the Dojo of the Oracle of Healthi (spoof off of Oracle of Delphi), who is involved in the Fountain of Youth and Legacy quests. To the far northwest lies the Kingdom of Youth, a two-island kingdom ruled by two teenagers, or so they seem. The King and Queen have actually been living since the Second Age, and as such have been living for approximately 10,165 years. They look so young because they sustain off of fish and Youth Water from the Fountain of Youth. Youth Water automatically resets your age at 13 if drank. It is the only known cure for tuberculosis, but unfortunately since the Fountain of Youth is contained within the Kingdom of Youth, which is only in legend, tuberculosis has ravaged the world of Gielinor since the Great Pandemic started in the year 145.
