| - Vicious close quarters fire-fights have been raging in the old latin quarter around a key location nicknamed by the troops as "the Yard", Though both the USMC and EFN commands and determined to secure this location, none have done so thus far.
- The Yard was Starfleet's secret alien technology research station. In the late 2260s, it was commanded by Commodore B6 Blue (also known as "Bishop"), a Nasat who had urged Spock to enroll at Starfleet Academy. The remains of the Doomsday Machine were sent to the Yard where they were stored and studied by the researchers present there. (TOS - Constellations short story: "Devices and Desires") "The Yard" is a nod to the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and L. Sprague de Camp did classified research during World War II.
- The Yard was a small hangar in a remote corner of the Resistance base on D'Qar. It contained flight and combat equipment, a locked store of weapons, and two rows of benches. A series of soft and watery mounds rolled of its back wall, but the wildlife they hosted could not be seen as the Yard had no windows.
- The Yard serves a number of purposes, which include:
* Scrapping any item for their set value.
* Mastercrafting (MC) and Godcrafting (GC) weapons and armour.
* Dyeing clothing and armour.
* Renaming weapons and armour.
- The Yard was once the ordinary backyard of Dexter's House until Dee Dee used Dexter's Botanical Booster elixir which caused the yard to grow out of control and gain monster-like attributes. It served as an antagonist in the episode "You Vegetabelieve It!".

- The Yard is a place introduced in The Icebound Land. It is an outdoor area where capable young males are sent to work as slaves. Being in Skandia, it is extremely cold, and most of the slaves do not have proper clothing. This leads to many of them to become delirious and submissive to the abuse and back-breaking labor. Two of the jobs mentioned are bringing deliveries to the Great Hall and working on the Paddles. Working the Paddles is the worst job a Yard slave can get. For 4 hours, two slaves push large paddles through ice to try and break it up, all the while getting whipped. But due to Skandia's freezing temperature, the crushed ice quickly refreezes, creating more work for the slaves. In Book 3, Will is assigned to the Yard because he is deemed muscular and fit, though small in stature. Here, he faces whippings, bitter cold, unending labor, and eventually drugs. Warmweed is a drug used by the slaves in The Yard to manipulate the other slaves into submission. Erak has a great dislike for the drug, and remarks that he is surprised that Ragnak does not make it illegal.
