Coelophysoids are a taxon of theopods, they are considered one of most primitive of dinosaurs. They appeared at the end of the Triassic, but by the middle Jurassic they became replaced by more advanced dinosaurs. They have been suggested to be heron-like waders on at least one occassion, as implied in the first episode of Sea Monsters, although this hasn't been proven.
