| - The Statue of Happiness' face bears a striking resemblance to former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. This resemblance, along with the cup of coffee in her right hand, may be a reference to the Hot Coffee controversy which Clinton took investigation in, also suggesting that new regulations be put on video games.
* "No Hidden Content This Way" sign The southern door has a sign: "No Hidden Content This Way". This is similar to the sign on top of the Gant Bridge in GTA San Andreas and The Hidden Sign in GTA III.
* Heart of LibertyWithin the Statue of Happiness is a giant beating heart, supposedly the "Heart of Liberty City." In GTA IV, access into the area is only achievable via an entrance marked by a "No Hidden Content This Way" sign at the upper level of the statue's pedestal, which can only be reached by helicopter. Once inside the pedestal, the player must scale a ladder up to the midsection of the statue, where the heart is located. It can be shot at, but nothing happens. In The Ballad of Gay Tony, if you drink too much, you will re-spawn at random locations, one of which may be the Heart of Liberty City.
* Maverick's warning messageThere's an unsettling warning message about the Maverick inside the cockpit that you can see if you look in first person mode that says:"This helicopter might crash but we really don't care if it does, refer to flight manual for help."
* Packie's brain-boxIf the player positions the camera in such a way that you can see inside Packie's head, you will see a small cube with Packie's balaclava texture from Three Leaf Clover.
* Strippers' black-boxSimilarly as Packie's brain-box, some of the strippers has a little black box inside their head.
* Police BrutalityInside the East Holland LCPD Station you can see three cops and someone on the ground. Another police brutality can be found at the northern beach of Boulevard, Bohan.
