The green poison dart frog, Ranitomeya viridis, is a species of poison dart frog endemic to Peru. It is a highly arboreal species, being found primarily in the canopy of rainforests and only occasionally retreating to ground level. R. viridis has never been exported from Peru in substantial numbers, mostly due their spotty distribution and low population densities.
