  • When placed on community lots, it differs from other exercise machines in that uncontrolled Sims will readily use it. The treadmill appears to outdraw weight machines. While it is most commonly seen on community lots, the Tinker family of Bluewater Village will have one if both University and Open for Business are installed. Using the treadmill will raise Sims' temperature if Seasons is installed, and raise Fitness enthusiasm if FreeTime is installed. Sims cannot tinker with the best treadmill .
  • The treadmill is commonly used as a torture device. It also is somewhat used in fitness.
  • When an MMORPG has large experience point requirements for each level (usually to keep players playing and paying), playing is said to feel like running on a treadmill and the time spent is seen as a "leveling treadmill". You spend a lot of time killing before you see any progress in levels. World of Warcraft has less of of a treadmill feel than a lot of other MMORPGs, though it is still there since characters can take a few weeks to a few months to level depending on how long the person plays and how much the person uses power leveling strategies. • Enterprise NX-01 was equipped with two treadmills as part of its gymnasium. In 2152, Captain Jonathan Archer and Sub-Commander T'Pol utilized them while discussing an infection Porthos had acquired during a visit to the Kreetassan homeworld. Due to her Vulcan physiology, T'Pol was able to maintain a high setting while Archer struggled to keep up. These exercisers typically consist of an endless, shock-absorbing, continuous tread (either a platform or rubber strips over rollers); motors, a front-rail-mounted console including a controller to regulate speed and/or elevation; and a display. Most treadmills have front-mounted rails; some devices also include siderails to allow users to steady themselves. The display usually shows treadmill (e.g., speed, elevation) and training (e.g., energy consumption) parameters; some treadmills can also detect and display physiologic parameters (e.g., pulse, breathing rate). Treadmills are used in healthcare facilities, gyms, and at home for exercising, training, and/or rehabilitation; dedicated trea
