The 1984 Rose Bowl was part of the 1983-84 college football postseason and was held on January 1, 1984 in Pasadena, California. The game pitted Lakes Champion Ohio State against PCC Champion UCLA. The Buckeyes defeated UCLA when the Bruins missed a last-second field goal, falling 22-20 in the final moments of the game. The game gave the Buckeyes a victory at the Rose Bowl since 1979. UCLA was led by future WFA Hall of Fame quarterback Kirk Longstreet.
