Durrlow was a male water rat in the army of the Marlfoxes. Along with Toolam, he traveled home with Mokkan and was soon promoted to Chief Advisor, thus replacing Wilce. However, Durrlow decided he had taken enough of Marlfox rule, and when Mokkan ordered him to help him sail away from the revolting slaves, Durrlow betrayed him. Instead of getting on the boat, Durrlow openly defied Mokkan's authority and refused, staying on the shore. When Mokkan threatened him, he pushed the boat out on the lake, with the words "Bad luck go with you!" His fate after this incident is unknown, though it is likely he became a farmer like the rest of the water rats.
