Malcom Richard "Dick" Wood (born February 29, 1936 in Lanett, Alabama) is a former American football quarterback who played at Auburn before being drafted by the NFL Baltimore Colts in 1959. He never played for the Colts, and signed with the American Football League's Denver Broncos as a free agent in 1962. Dick played for five different AFL teams during his football career, the only player to do so.

In 1951, he moved to DC Comics and began writing for Action Comics before joining Gold Key Comics in the early 1960s. While at Gold Key, he was a primary writer of Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom from 1965 through the end of its run in 1969. He also contributed stories to the first eight issues of Gold Key's Star Trek series:
