Producer Yoshinori Ono returns along with Kazunori Kadoi (Resident Evil: Revelations 2) and Tatsuya Namora (Dissidia: Final Fantasy), designers of the Capcom and Square-Enix characters and levels from the first game, respectively. Marvel characters make an appearance in a collaboration with Disney (who also own the IP rights to the Kingdom Hearts series), as seen in the first game, albeit much more integral to the game's plot and greater in number this time. The game is slated for a late 2018 release date for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
