In Canada, the automotive aftermarket is a $19.4 billion (CDN) industry that employs more than 420,000 people. In Singapore, the aftermarket industry grows by 4.25% annually along with the total number of motor vehicles on the roads. Automobile manufacturers have at times attempted to hinder or suppress automotive aftermarket sales by means of copyright or patent infringement litigation.
