- Star Piece is an item introduced in the Generation II series. In Pokémon Platinum, one must be traded to Mr. Fuego to get one of each color of a shard. It can be sold for File:Poké Dollar.png4900 and bought for File:Poké Dollar.png48000. In the games, they can be found in various' locations and held by wild Staryu 5% of the time (8% in Generation II). In Generation IV, Star Pieces could also be found in the Sinnoh Underground. In Generation V, Starmie started to hold Star Pieces with a 5% chance.
- Star Piece could refer to one of the following:
* The story-important items from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
* The common collectible items from the Paper Mario series.
- Star Pieces were obtained in a variety of ways, from finding them out in the open to secret platforms. Secret platforms looked like the normal setting, but if Mario groundpounded next to it, the platform would go flying and a Star Piece would emerge. The only way to tell if a secret platform was in that area was by using your partners Watt and Ms. Mowz or by using the I Spy badge. Merluvlee also helps Mario in both games by telling him where a Star Piece is for some cash. Other times, people gave Mario Star Pieces for doing them some sort of favor.
