This class of three ships was the second design of the new brand of all-big-gun battleships that was soon to bear the name of their predecessor, the groundbreaking HMS Dreadnought. Improved internal construction and protection, a heavier anti-torpedo boat armament of 4" guns and an increased overall size made them more sturdy than the Dreadnought at the same speed, although some compromises had to be made in terms of armour protection and coal bunkerage. All of them were commissioned in 1909.

- The Bellerophon class was a class of dreadnoughts used by the Royal Manticoran Navy. This conventional design was conceived prior to the First Havenite-Manticoran War, long before the advent of missile pod technology. The class was intended as the companion model to the Gryphon-class superdreadnaught. The Bellerophon class's missile centric design and barely smaller mass made it more effective than most Manticoran superdreadnaught designs. The last of a total of 38 ships of this class were retired in 1921 PD. (HH3, Companion)
