The stately home was located on the site of a small cottage which the count and Contessa purchased in 1901. They began some renovations in 1902 and added an Italian sunroom. The house was rented out after 1904 as the Condottori's left for Italy. When they returned in 1915 more work began on the house, but the original cottage was tore down and work began on a large, Italian-style palazzo of the renaissance age. Ambrogio, who's family has a rundown palazzo in Italy, was able to bring back many of the 16th century portions to use in his Lovian home. Upon its completion in 1918, 60% of the house was from the early renaissance and 40% was from the early 20th century. In 1980 Fabrizio Condottori donated the house to the city of Portland and in 1984 it was opened as the local museum. Fabrizio al
