The unnamed Health and Safety Inspector conducted a thorough risk assessment at Underworld following the death of employee Kasia Barowicz at the premises in April 2007. The inspector told Paul Connor that although there were a few issues, his main concern however, was the metal staircase - the area upstairs could not be used for storage unless they installed a lift and once everything had been resolved the factory could be reopened. Paul was relieved by this news but the inspector was quick to point out that Health and Safety guidelines had been infringed and they could well be fined. The inspector stated that he would send a copy of the report but was satified that Kasia's death was an accident and there were no grounds for negligence.
