Matthew Falduto was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Iowa City in 1992 to study English Literature at the University of Iowa. While there, he was active in a student theatre group called West Side Players. After graduation, along with three friends from West Side Players, including his wife, Sharon Falduto, he formed Dreamwell Theatre. During his time with Dreamwell, has acted in many shows as well as directed a few. Behind the scenes, he has at different times served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Board. He was also Executive Director for a time. His acting credits include "Paul" in Barefoot in the Park, "George" in Of Mice and Men, "Edward" in Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, "King Philip" in , "Andrew" in Love Letters, and "Philip" in Corpus Christi. Directing credits include The Hobbit, Wait Until Dark, How To Sell a Chair, Intellectual Orgasms, Pop Tart Hero and That Day in September, which he adapted for eight actors. He is a member of the Black Doggers, a playwriting group founded by Joe Jennison. A play that he wrote as a member of that group, Pop Tart Hero, was produced by Rage.
