Subversion is well-known in the open source community and is used on many open source projects such as: Apache Software Foundation, KDE, GNOME, Free Pascal, FreeBSD, GCC, Python, Django, Ruby, Mono, and previously also Samba (which now uses git). SourceForge.net and Tigris.org also provide Subversion hosting for their open source projects. Google Code and BountySource systems use it exclusively. Subversion is also being adopted in the corporate world.
