| - A blockade is structured in a number of rounds, in a best-of-five format. Each round takes approximately 45 minutes and is followed by a 15-minute break, except that, between rounds 3 and 4, if the blockade lasts that long, the break is 1 hour longer, lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. For more information on how to win a round, see the section on scoring. For details on how a commanding officer controls the ship and navigates the board, see sea battle.

- Blockade is a status effect unique to Random Kingdom III. It is indistinguishable from Stasis in all but the source from which it is applied and the fact that Blockade is only one constituent part of Stasis. Anything under the effect of Blockade is encapsuled in an amber-colored bubble of energy and its animation will be frozen mid-movement (like Stop). Complete immunity to physical attacks (non-Magic) is conferred by this status effect.

- Blockade is the ancient practice of screening a given destination with military forces in an effort to prevent "undesirable" ships from visiting the blockaded port. Given the vast reaches that must be interdicted, space blockades are rarely effective for long unless the blockading faction is prepared to continuously commit enormous forces to the effort. In many cases (the planet Merrol comes to mind), the blockade is more a declaration of intentions that a fact of life.

- Blockade is a Player Versus Player Arcade Game from 1977, released by Gremlin. Players control the direction of two arrows moving across the screen, but can't stop them from moving. Each arrow leaves a wall of bricks behind it. The objective is to get the other player to crash into a wall, either yours, his own, or the wall surrounding the screen.
- This is a strategy for controlling an opponent's expansion while subsequently getting a straight shot at their base by creating a "wall" around them, keeping them locked in while still battering them. The first step in accomplishing such a tactic is knowing the map: Where are the entrances to an enemy's main base? If it's open, is it near water or landlocked? Is it on an island? The answer to these questions determines the means by which to block them. The easiest way to accomplish this would be if the enemy's base is in open terrain, with no mountains or cliffs surrounding it; or on a small island. For land blockades, the key units would be tanks, artillery, mobile AA, bots and, at later points of the game, experimentals (If the enemy was not destroyed earlier on). Keeping a circular wall

- A blockade is an effort to cut off food, supplies, war material or communications from a particular area by force, either in part or totally. A blockade should not be confused with an embargo or sanctions, which are legal barriers to trade, and is distinct from a siege in that a blockade is usually directed at an entire country or region, rather than a fortress or city. Most blockades historically took place at sea, with the blockading power seeking to cut off all maritime transport from and to the blockaded country; although stopping all land transport to and from an area may also be considered a blockade. In the 20th century air power has also been used to enhance the effectiveness of the blockade by halting all air traffic within the blockaded air space.
