He was active in humanitarian missions across the Outer Rim Territories for over six decades, eventually settling on Nylath. Lamiss encountered Shakvail during her mission to Nylath, and the Jedi Knight found him curious for his refusal to accept the existence of The Force, considering it anti-science. Despite this skepticism, Lamiss would contact Wol Ferinth to have Shakvail investigate a series of strange injuries in the town of Ronebridge. This led to the discovery and defeat of the Alchemical Nematode at Lake Vulon.
