Lewisporte is a town located along the north-central coast of the island of Newfoundland in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The town has a population of about 3,300. Lewisporte was used as a base for Canadian forces during World War II as support and housing facilities to the airport in Gander approximately 50km to the east.
